Citation Chaser

Backward (references) and forward (cited-by) citation chasing via the OpenAlex API. Paste one or more DOIs or OpenAlex IDs as seeds, then fan out to find related works. Results are deduplicated across seeds. Behaviourally verified: the deterministic seed parsing (OpenAlex URL / bare W-ID / bare DOI / doi.org URL, garbage and blank lines dropped) and the OpenAlex work normalisation (shortId, title/doi/cited-by fallbacks, first-3 authors) are pinned by constructed-oracle tests (hub/shared/tests/citation-chaser-behavior.spec.mjs).

Uses the OpenAlex public API (no key required). OpenAlex is a free and open catalog of scholarly works. Forward citations are limited to the first N results per seed to avoid overwhelming the API — see the Max cited-by setting.
